    Founded in 2004, New York Angels is one of the most active Angel groups in the country. To bolster our marketing team and accelerate brand growth we are now hiring a bright, dynamic, and creative Content Marketing Associate. The objectives of this position are to increase brand awareness of the group among entrepreneurs seeking funding as well as the broader early stage investing community. The ideal candidate will take ownership of marketing campaigns, take initiative in creating compelling content, and work in collaboration with other team members on matters of reporting and planning.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE: The successful applicant will have a background in marketing, an enthusiasm for and knowledge of the startup ecosystem, excellent people and communications skills and be able to work both as a part of a small team as well as independently.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage social media channels and create strategy for promoting content in a measurable way
    • Refresh current website content quarterly
    • Write and circulate a monthly newsletter to the Angel/VC ecosystem, NYA sponsors and portfolio companies, noting new companies funded, later round financings secured and exits of NYA portfolio companies
    • Coordinate PR announcements regarding New York Angels portfolio companies and manage relationships with journalists
    • Identify and manage a calendar of NYC industry events, pitch competitions, demo days, meet-ups and networking events
    • Network at demo days, meet-ups and other such events with both investors and entrepreneurs
    • Maintain communication with the Angel Capital Association and other identified angel groups and investment partners
    • Attend monthly NYA Screenings and Investment Breakfast meetings
    • Assist in producing and promoting events such as meet-ups, quarterly NYA office hours and our two annual parties

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS Degree in Communications, Marketing, Finance or related fields
    • Two (2) or more years of relevant work experience; prior experience working at a startup, venture fund, or accelerator is a plus but not required
    • Passion for startups and the venture capital ecosystem
    • Exceptional oral, written, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and strong work ethic
    • Poised and professional self-presentation
    • Existing ties to the New York startup community is a plusbut not required
