    THIS POSITION IS FOR MANN PACKING (A DEL MONTE COMPANY)

     

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    Provide leadership and supervision to a team of production employees (inspectors, cutters, sorter, machine operators, forklift drivers) to ensure production orders are met, compliance with food safety and human safety regulations, and proper job assignments in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Supervise assigned area ensuring that the processing lines, bagging machines and personnel are performing duties and are working in the most efficient manner possible.
    • Evaluate raw product with assistance from QA department for the appropriate number of inspectors required and check that the proper rotation of product is being followed.
    • Conduct inspection of the metal detectors with in area of responsibilities.
    • Ensure that employees in assign work area are following company policies and procedure and issue citations to employees as needed.
    • Conduct new hire trainings, monthly safety tailgate meetings, work area inspections and GMP/ food safety training as required by QA department.
    • Complete necessary paperwork and data entry for product tracing and financial service department

     

    MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • 3-5 years experience working in a production environment.
    • Experience working in fresh produce packaging and production.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
    • Proven leadership skills
    • Computer skills – Microsoft office
    • Good verbal/ written communication skills

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming requests to the DPS department for various word processing related projects such as formatting, proofreading, editing, styling, printing, comparing, and conversion or saving documents to image (PDF);
    • Interface with requestors to gather detailed information in order to better understand the nature and requirements of assignments;
    • Analyze requests to determine how tasks should be performed and provide detailed directives both verbally and electronically as needed;
    • Direct requests to proper resources and coordinate with local and off-site office services;
    • Assist with proofreading tasks and quality control analysis during heavy volume periods;
    • Delivery of projects within a reasonable, well negotiated time period;
    • Perform other related duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred;
    • Prior document processing or similar experience in a team environment;
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet pressing deadlines;
    • Ability to produce quality work product;
    • Flexibility to work overtime.
