    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    This position will be responsible for support on procurement efforts for the North America Operations. Main duties on procurement in the areas of: packaging, and other necessary tools for the proper and efficient function of warehouse and fresh cut operations in the North America Division. In this role, will also serve as a liaison between Del Monte and its vendors when seeking to research, evaluate, negotiate purchases, and packaging traceability.

     

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Manage physical inventory packaging (ERP), supplies and seasonal fluctuation.
    • Minimize on hand packaging expense and obsolete packaging.
    • Project management to include packaging and warehouse/production supplies.
    • Work on procurement contracts and bids with area Director. Evaluate best option to include terms.
    • Serve as JIT program primary contact (internal and external).
    • Identify potential suppliers; verify all vendor costs, quality and levels of service.
    • New Oracle item, research and creation (internal and external).
    • Comply with all purchasing policies and procedures.
    • Assist Director with any problem solving matters, including those related to transportation and shipping.        
    • Communicate and work with Sales, Production and Distribution Centers to coordinate product delivery (new products, items, replacements, etc.
    • Manage pooled pallet and RPC programs.
    • SAP software implementation liaison and project lead.
    • Lead packaging efficiency and improvement projects.
    • Maximize BPO efficiency.
    • Price list maintenance and pricing optimization. Identify cost cutting opportunities.

     

    MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • 4 year college degree in a related field, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 1 year experience in a similar role, with project management, supply chain experience.
    • Excellent analytical, communication (i.e. written and oral) and organizational skills.
    • High competency with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook).

     

    PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

    • Oracle platform experience.
    • SAP platform experience
