    POSITION SUMMARY:  The New York City Department of Education (DOE) is the largest school system in the nation, with nearly 1.1 million students and approximately 75,000+ teachers in over 1,800 schools.

     

    The Senior Advisor of EduStat within the Office of the First Deputy Chancellor supports the EduStat Executive Director. The Senior Director will drive coherence by collaborating cross-functionally and communicating with stakeholders about EduStat. The Senior Advisor will actively participate in various collaboration activities to understand barriers and help the EduStat team overcome hurdles.  Performs related work.

     

    REPORTS TO:  Executive Director, EduStat

     

    DIRECT REPORTS:  EduStat Managers

     

    KEY RELATIONSHIPS:  The Office of the First Deputy Chancellor, the Continuous Improvement Team, Executive Superintendents, Superintendents, Borough/Citywide Offices, the Chancellor’s office, Chancellor’s Cabinet, Office of Policy and Evaluation, and school communities.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

     

    • Advises the Executive Director of EduStat and key team members in the delivery of a strategic progress monitoring and continuous improvement process.
    • Actively participates in meetings across City agencies and with key government officials to share best instructional practices, and discuss implementation and change strategies, and to help position EduStat efforts to improve progress at the New York City Department of Education.
    • Provides strategic leadership, vision, and guidance to the EduStat team in navigating organizational barriers.
    • Provides insight and guidance to EduStat staff members and partners in the EduStat practice.
    • Participates in the development and dissemination of related white papers, reports, guidance documents, procedure manuals, training materials, and other written materials for stakeholders.
    • Ensures robust representation and active participation in the continuous improvement process by liaising directly and cultivating relationships with central teams, and Borough/Citywide offices.
    • Prepares high value reports and delivers presentations for members of senior leaderships, and across divisions.

     

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

     

    MINIMUM

     

    Must currently possess or will possess by date of hire, New York State certification as a school district administrator (SDA) or school district leader (SDL).  PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT INTERNSHIP CERTIFICATES.

    SALARY: $129,014+
