    SUMMARY:

    The Supervisor has general responsibility for directing, coordinating and supervising all operational functions on a daily basis, as well as other duties that may be assigned to support the overall operation.  Under the direction of the Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving/picking/shipping functions in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.  Provide leadership and guidance to D.C. personnel in the absence of the D.C. Manager. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain, promote and train associates in a safe and positive work environment by ensuring all Invacare Human Resources, Department of Labor, Safety, OSHA and FDA regulations are enforced and adhered to at all times.
    • Cultivate Invacare’s culture and values by promoting communication, teamwork, and respectful treatment of all individuals.
    • Make recommendations to DC Manager on observation and opportunities to improve DC Inbound/Outbound operations and or overall site operations.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in performing the following daily  functions:
      • Inbound Scheduling, carrier management, unload trailers, receive and count product, put away product, problem resolution, document control.
      • Labor Planning, Order Flow Management, picking and packing functions. Slotting carrier management, trailers loading, Quality Assurance, site opening and closing processes.
    • Ensure that scheduled work is effectively implemented, assigned and completed.
    • Maintain the facility’s Extended Warehouse management system and own it.                                         
    • Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
    • Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts.
    • Coach and counsel associates to achieve and exceed site procedures, protocol and standards.
    • Monitors and manages department and individual productivity to ensure cost effective schedule attainment.
    • Effectively manages department resources such as supplies and equipment to control costs and meet distribution center demands.
    • Keeps Manager and Human Resources informed of any employee relations issues.
    • Prepare and present performance appraisals, safety reports, monthly operational reports, weekly activity reports, and accident reports.
    • Serve on and drive the following administrative committee and safety functions:
      • Blue Risk safety program, housekeeping, safety committee, lift truck training, warehouse safety training, and first aid team.
    • Ensure that all required training is identified for and completed by all direct reports.
    • Evaluate staffing needs and costs; identifies, hires and promotes individuals with the right skills and competencies necessary to achieve superior results.
    • Develop a team environment that values diversity and uses various individual’s strengths to the benefit of the team.
    • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
    • Ensure all transaction performed physically matches electronically and vice versa.

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate’s Degree or equivalent in experience.
    • Must have three (5) years experience in a warehouse environment safely using Powered Industrial Trucks and pallet jacks, with at least one (3) year in a leadership role.
    • Proficiency in Warehousing management system required.
    • Must be able to work independently with little need for direction.
    • Proficiency in leadership, supervision, motivation, organization and planning. Effective communication ability, written and verbal.
    • Ability to formulate and establish priorities and multi-task.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. when required.
    • Advanced computer skills required. Microsoft office 365, Excel, MS teams

  • Qualifications
    • High School Education
    • Two year degree in Industrial Maintenance or five years of experience in Industrial Maintenance preferred, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience. 
    • Must be at a skilled mechanics level.
    • Ability to operate the more common types of machine shop equipment.
    • Knowledge of plastic molding equipment a plus.
    • Frequently lifting or moving average weight material (between 25# to 60#).
    • Occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material (over 60#).
    • Must be able to climb equipment, ladders and steep stairs.
