    PRE-ADMISSION PROGRAM ASSISTANT

    ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

     

     

    Job Summary:

     

    This position requires a person who is eager to be a part of a collegial, student-centered environment. A person who is interested in serving others to become knowledgeable in pursuing a higher academic experience as fostered by the mission of St. Vincent DePaul. 

     

    Essential Functions:

     

    • The program assistant will schedule/confirm daily, weekly/ monthly appointments for the Director
    • Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, other external personnel, University departments on the phone and through emails
    • Assist in compilation of data for the various program of the office-College Advantage, High School Scholars, St. John’s University/ St. John’s Prep Baccalaureate Program, other outreach programs. 
    • Organize/ maintain files/data for programs.
    • Place food orders for office events; order supplies for office.

     

     

    Competencies: 

     

    • Candidates should possess strong verbal/communication skills 
    • Excellent computer skills- word, excel, power point, access, outlook 
    • Willingness to learn University databases as needed. 
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and flexibility to prioritize during peak times of the various programs. 
    • Adaptability to University/ office changes

     

     

    Work Environment:

     

    This position operates in a professional office environment. The role uses standard office equipment- desktop computer, printer, fax machine, phone. 

     

    Physical demands:

     

    • The candidate must possess a strong work ethic;
    • be organized;
    • available to work a 35 hour week (Monday – Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 8:30 am to 3 pm).

      

     

    Required Education/Experience:

     

    • experience of at least 1-3 years with office work;
    • computer knowledge;
    • adaptability
