    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Consultant will assist with the development of user-friendly Microsoft Excel models that evaluate utility financial, technical, and operational data to provide reports, insight, and action plans. The successful candidate will work directly with senior employees and external client project teams to diagnose issues and collaboratively design effective solutions. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform quantitative and qualitative financial and economic analyses to support end-user models utilizing the Microsoft Office suite of products.
    • Conduct econometric analyses employing descriptive and predictive analytics to summarize large sets of historical data from various platforms.
    • Support development of financial models with user-friendly dashboards to improve flexibility in decision making and addressing our client's most challenging problems.
    • Develop project status reports as well as reports and presentations summarizing research findings, statistical data analysis, results, and recommendations.
    • Perform industry and/or project-specific research.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, or related field.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced experience with Microsoft Excel preferred.  Knowledge of Power Query, PowerPivot, PowerBI, and R is a plus.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience preferred. 
    • Strong analytics background or formal education in transforming large datasets into coherent observations and quantitatively supported recommendations.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    LOCATION:  Austin, Texas. In person initially, then hybrid options available.  We offer flexible work schedules with the understanding that a client deadline takes precedent.  We are a client focused organization and therefore every position will have a utilization goal to meet. 

    EMPLOYEE TYPE:  Full-time.  Some overtime will be required.

    SALARY:  We offer competitive salaries and bonuses.     Base Compensation Range: $62,000 - $70,000

    The range provided is NewGen's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
