    THE ROLE:

    NewGround is an A&E firm with a unique service offering that includes a MillerKnoll Dealership in house. We are hiring a Furniture Specialist to assist with creating innovative and dynamic branded spaces for our financial and retail clients. An ideal candidate must have prior dealership experience in developing furniture installation drawings and specifications for commercial projects. Applicant can be based out of the St. Louis, MO or the Chicago, IL office.

    SKILLS:

    • Understanding of Dealer Design Industry
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Generate furniture design concepts and design finalization
    • Produce, review, and pick up redlines for the installation drawings and furniture specifications 
    • Assist with providing information to establish project budgets
    • Prepare / issue Addendums and/or ASIs as necessary
    • Attend and/or facilitate in person or virtual client meetings/presentations, showroom tours, site visits, and final punch along with preparing appropriate documentation
    • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously 
    • Collaborate and assist Senior Interior Designers and/or Senior Furniture Specialist on headquarter projects 
    • Mentor Designers and Interns
    • Coordinates with business development, architecture, engineering, digital, consultants, and build on projects and help guide all disciplines on furniture scope of projects
    • Respond to Senior Interior Designers and Clients in a timely manner
    • Complete projects on schedule and within established budget
    • Perform all other related work, as assigned or as apparent

    EXPECTATIONS:

    • Travel required at times to assist with client ­showroom tours, site walkthroughs and final punch

    PREREQUISITES:

    • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or related field required 
    • 2+ years with a furniture dealership required
    • Proficient with CET Designer
    • Knowledge of InDesign is preferred
    • Interest in NCIDQ Certification, LEED and/or WELL AP is preferred
