About the Role

As a News Content Producer at KOAM, you will play a vital role in shaping the daily news experience for viewers across television, digital, social, and streaming platforms. You'll go beyond stacking stories—using your creativity and editorial judgment to craft compelling newscasts and digital content that inform, engage, and empower our community. Working closely with reporters and the news team, you'll help bring the team's creative vision to life while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in every broadcast and post.

KOAM is the news, weather, and sports leader in the 4-States area (Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri), producing more than 30 hours of local news content weekly. KOAM is owned by Morgan Murphy Media, a family-owned and operated company since 1890. Key Responsibilities

• Select, research, and write content for live newscasts to create an engaging experience for viewers
• Collaborate with and guide reporters in story production
• Communicate, coordinate, and execute the creative vision of the news team
• Assist with updating KOAMs digital and social media platforms
• Ensure all content meets journalistic integrity and ethical standards

Qualifications

• Creative, organized, and decisive, with strong communication skills
• Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and copy-editing abilities
• Ability to multi-task and summarize complex information clearly
• Previous experience in a newsroom or producing live newscasts, and familiarity with digital and social media content management preferred
• Flexible schedule, with availability for holidays, nights, weekends, overnights, and breaking news
