    Job Description

    KTLM Telemundo 40 is seeking a dynamic Multiplatform Producer who can create compelling, timely, and audience-focused content for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms. This is a dual-role position responsible for producing daily newscasts, executing breaking news, coordinating special programming, and publishing digital content that connects with our Spanish-speaking community across all screens.

    Responsibilities

    Broadcast & Editorial

    • Produce and manage daily newscasts with strong storytelling, accuracy, and editorial excellence.
    • Select, write, organize, and edit content—including headlines, teases, reporter intros, and breaking news scripts.
    • Execute live elements and coordinate live shots, remotes, and special coverage from the control room.
    • Stack and manage rundowns, adjusting in real time for breaking news and developing stories.
    • Collaborate closely with Executive Producers, Assignment Desk, Anchors, MMJs/VJs, Editors, and Production crews.
    • Copy-edit scripts for clarity, tone, grammar, and compliance with Telemundo standards and legal guidelines.
    • Participate in daily editorial meetings and contribute original story ideas.
    • Field produce and assist with planning future coverage as needed.

    Multiplatform / Digital Production

    • Write and publish content for web, mobile, push alerts, OTT/FAST channels, and social platforms.
    • Coordinate with digital teams to ensure consistency and timely updates across all platforms.
    • Plan and produce livestreams, explainers, and community-focused digital segments.
    • Use analytics and audience insights to maximize engagement and reach.

    Breaking News & Communication

    • Respond to breaking news with speed, accuracy, and strong editorial judgment across ALL platforms.
    • Serve as a clear communicator in the newsroom—coordinating story elements, live logistics, and booking interviews.
    • Ensure all content aligns with ethical standards, legal requirements, and Telemundo newsroom policies.

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment with a solutions-focused attitude.
    • Communicate expectations clearly to talent, MMJs, and production teammates.
    • Support a positive, collaborative newsroom culture.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Fully fluent in Spanish (speak/read/write) and proficient in English.
    • 1–2 years of experience as a News Producer or similar newsroom role.
    • Excellent writing, storytelling, and news judgment skills.
    • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and during emergencies.
    • Must work on-site in the McAllen area and be willing to travel for special assignments.
    • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S., be 18+ , pass a background check, and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
