NewsBank's content is derived via partnerships with leading news providers worldwide. This key position supports news publishers, enabling them to leverage their content and archived content online through hosting, distribution and e-commerce services. In cooperation with our Rights and Permissions team, the Publisher Support Representative manages NewsBank services for assigned publishing partner accounts. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and be able to multi-task.
Location: Chester, VT; hybrid or remote considered
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages incoming and outgoing communications to resolve data feed issues
- Assists in creating, launching, and supporting our hosted e-commerce websites
- Troubleshoots and resolves publisher technical issues relating to NewsBank products and services
- Provides training for publishers as appropriate
- Works with Rights and Permissions colleagues, publishers, and other vendors to ship master microfilm to NewsBank
- Monitors and assists management of assigned accounts' microfilm digitization
- Collaborates with other corporate departments to find solutions to problems, improve processes, and develop new or improved services
- Participates as a member of cross-functional team meetings and assigned projects
- Maintains systems information, including customer information, product maintenance information and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) maintenance information
- Communicates issues to appropriate departments as they relate to content
- Performs other duties as may be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and /or ability required.
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in a customer service role
- Able to adapt to rapid change, high level of patience and understanding, ability to work independently and with confidence, excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs and Windows environment and ability to learn new software programs
- Understanding of FTP protocol and other data delivery methods preferred
- Knowledge of html with proven experience building websites preferred
- Ability to use the Internet to solve customer problems
- Ability to work well under pressure and to work in an office environment
