    Workforce Software Consultant

    Job Summary:

    Next Generation, Inc. (NGI) an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a Workforce Software Consultant to join our team of smart, capable, passionate developers. This is a full-stack opportunity where you will contribute to both client-side (Java Script Frameworks, HTML, CSS) and server-side (primarily Java). You will be a key contributor to help us meet customer requirements and deliver applications to our customers.

    This is a highly visible role, as you would be working closely with our customer teams and liaisons with back-end software product owners. Our teams are the closest to many of the challenges our customers face, and you will be empowered to work closely with customer teams, defining and implementing the best solutions for their needs.

    You can be based geographically anywhere in the country but travel be required.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Interpret solution design documents to develop features and functionality of any packaged software using Java, Java Script, HTML and CSS – preferably time and attendance software such as Kronos and Workforce
    • Design and develop customizations and extensions using Java, Java Script, HRML, CSS, etc. – full stack development
    • Work with customers and partners in identifying solutions, estimating effort and liaison with product owners for implementation
    • Work with partner agile teams to ensure complex dependencies are understood and to minimize defects
    • Extend your skill-set while contributing to your team and projects
    • Participate in agile ceremonies
    • Participate in code reviews

    Job Requirements:

    • 5+ years of software development experience
    • 5+ years of time and attendance experience
    • Design and development of features and functionality of any packaged software using Java, Java Script, HTML and CSS – preferably time and attendance software such as Kronos and workforce
    • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
    • 5+ years of experience in object-oriented and related design concepts
    • Demonstrate knowledge of SQL, application servers and servlets
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with or a passion to learn new technologies and frameworks
    • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
    • Experience with BI and integration with ERP software such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP and SuccessFactors
