XML JAVA DEVELOPER

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) needs to provide Uniform Crime Statistics to the State of Maryland in XML format in 2nd Quarter 2021. The MCPD records management system currently produces these data in flat file format. The candidate will be asked to review and modify an existing JAVA program/script which converts those flat files into the required XML (FF2XML). Using the current JAVA program and the FBIs Technical Specifications for the XML file, the candidate will convert the Countys crime data into the format needed by the State of Maryland.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• XML certification preferred. 
• Experience as an XML developer (2 yrs. minimum). 
• Experience programming with Java (3 yrs. minimum). 
• Project experience using a Java testing framework such as JUnit. 
• Experience using distributed source control systems such as Git.
