    Lithotripsy is an elite specialization; few Radiology Technologists in the U.S. are trained and certified in this field and it comes at NO COST TO YOU after joining the NextMed Team. You will receive state of the art training that combines hands-on learning with reading materials.   

     

    The Lithotripsy Technologist Traveler position is designed to enable NextMed to meet its obligation to provide coverage for its clients, helping to insure that no patient will ever be deprived of treatment because of a lack of  manpower.  

     

    • Perform daily set up of equipment including calibration, safety checks and cleansing of equipment 
    • Responsible for the care and maintenance of all ancillary radiology and lithotripsy equipment. 
    • Maintain up-to-date professional and clinical knowledge/skills practice and safety standards, radiation protection and infection control procedures.
    • Follow OSHA guidelines and meets all requirements in accordance with polices
    • Communicate professionally and appropriately with customers including physicians, staff, patients 

    Work Schedule: Traveler Technologists must be willing and able to travel on short notice. While every  effort will be made to provide early notice of travel assignments, the very nature of  the position precludes the provision of advance notice in certain instances.

     

     

    Work Preparedness:   Traveler Technologists are responsible on a daily basis to answer their work phones 24/7,  monitor e-mails and texts, and speak with their schedulers to confirm their schedule  status. 

     

    Travel Schedule: Traveler Technologists are responsible for coordinating their own travel (including flight, hotel, and rental car) in compliance with corporate needs, regulatory requirements (DOT), corporate expense operating procedures, and patient treatment schedules.  Technologists will normally be required to travel on Sunday to arrive at their assigned location, ready to begin a route on Monday morning.  Travel home every Friday is an option. NextMed will endeavor to arrange travel schedules that maximize  efficiency and remain consistent with our requirements.

    Required Skills

    • Ability to pass a thorough background check for felony and misdemeanor convictions
    • Ability to pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical along with a drug test and driving record check
    • General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room
    • Must be comfortable maneuvering and transporting large medical equipment
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, and hear. The employee shall regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally push or maneuver up to 1000-1500 pounds on wheels

    Required Experience

    • ARRT Certified Radiology Tech
    • Minimum of a 2 year degree in Radiology 
    • Preferably, at least 1 year experience in the operating room 
    • Preferably, some experience working with a C-arm
  • Qualifications
