    Job Description

    The Head of Internal and External Communications plays a key role in NielsenIQ’s global communications activities. This role includes a healthy mix of both strategy development and hands-on execution. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the position will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of communication activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership through internal and external communication. This position requires a self motivated, dynamic communications professional who is passionate about creative storytelling, building brands through compelling communications that enhance the overall experience for both employees and clients.

    Key Responsibilities/Objectives:

    • Develop strategic communications plans to support NIQ’s business objectives and drive integrated campaigns and media relations strategies.

    • Protect and advance NIQ’s image and reputation through effective communication strategies, including crisis communications.

    • Lead internal communications strategy - including planning, project managing, and executing- across the organization to support unified and coordinated messages across a range of issues, from employee engagement to leadership direction and change management.

    • Partner with CHRO and HR team to evolve internal communications focusing on increasing employee engagement.

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic communications plan for NIQ executives and senior leaders and ensure that the leaders’ vision and messaging is clearly and consistently communicated to all stakeholders.

    • Develop and implement enterprise-wide internal communications as well as content programs and campaigns.

    • Create and manage press opportunities for senior executives and collaborate to develop thought leadership platforms inclusive of speaking opportunities and bylined content with PR agency

    • Translate corporate communication strategy into plans with specific actions and content on strategic and tactical communications across a variety of channels.

    • Demonstrate strong skills in storytelling, writing and editing clear, concise, and compelling media and company materials.

    • Develop talking points, speeches, and other executive communications as needed.

    • Develop change and communication plans by writing key messages, establishing timelines, and recommending deliverables jointly with senior leadership and other cross-functional stakeholders.

    • Lead the development and implementation of communications that resonate—derived from change and communication plans—partnering closely with key internal stakeholders across the function and across the business

    • Coordinate planning and execution of executive communications, including town halls, LiveChats, videos, and other communication vehicles.

    • Oversee the creation of integrated content to feed our internal communication channels, including intranet, emails, newsletter content, internal social feeds, and presentations.

    • Direct, lead and measure effectiveness of all corporate image and communications strategies

    • Maintain a network of key strategic press contacts

    • Work with marketing and broader communications team to create product specific communications plans

    • Share best practices across the Communications organization for improved performance

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field. Master’s degree a plus

    • 10+ years of experience in Communications & Media Relations, holding progressively responsible leadership positions, preferably in the CPG industry

    • Demonstrated skill and success in developing and delivering a wide range of communications strategies including corporate brand and reputation development, public relations, media relations, social and digital media, and corporate communications to drive awareness and engagement

    • Strong project planning, implementation, and measurement experience, including ability to manage a wide range of projects simultaneously and achieve desired results

    • Deep familiarity with multiple facets of the CPG/FMCG industry, including an understanding of NIQ products and solutions

    • Ability to understand and synergize vast amounts of information and pull out the most relevant and impactful points that create a strong narrative

    • Exceptional oral and written communications skills. Ability to give concise, compelling verbal presentations at all levels of the organization

    • Ability to ensure consistency with corporate messaging

    • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, manage and mentor a communications team

    • Deadline driven, with an ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

    • Detail oriented, strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent relationship-building skills
