    The Night Auditor is a dual-role position that combines front desk guest service with the hotel's nightly accounting and reporting functions. During the overnight shift, this person is responsible for checking in and checking out guests, handling reservations, responding to requests, and ensuring a welcoming experience consistent with Sonesta brand standards- while also closing out the day's financial activity, reconciling accounts, running audit reports, and preparing management summaries for the next day. In the absence of another supervisor, the Night Auditor serves as the hotel's manager-on-duty, making this a position that requires both reliability and good judgment. Responsibilities: • Perform all nightly audit procedures, including closing the business day, reconciling guest accounts, processing credit card deposits, preparing income journals, and distributing management reports • Greet arriving guests, process check-ins and check-outs, take and confirm reservations, and respond to guest requests throughout the shift • Serve as manager-on-duty in the absence of other supervisors, handling guest issues, safety concerns, and operational decisions as needed • Control and balance house funds, post charges accurately to guest accounts, investigate rate discrepancies, and resolve disputed charges • Maintain front desk records, including the Guest Services Log, key control, luggage storage, and departmental checklists • Coordinate special guest requests with housekeeping and maintenance, and assist with luggage, guest transportation, and other service needs as required • Safeguard proprietary hotel and guest information and adhere to all Company financial controls, safety procedures, and brand standards Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred • Strong mathematical and clerical aptitude with attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping • Comfortable working independently overnight with the ability to exercise sound judgment as the on-site manager-on-duty • Good written and verbal communication skills with a calm, professional, guest-facing demeanor • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with hotel PMS systems, word processing, and spreadsheets • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform physical tasks, including luggage handling and stair climbing • Valid driver's license with a clean record; ability to transport guests in the hotel vehicle as directed Compensation: $20 - $21.50 hourly
