Position: Summer Intern Reporting To: Senior Scientist II, Pharmacology Position Objective Nitto BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of novel RNA-based therapeutics for intractable diseases. The employee holding the Summer Intern position within the in vivo pharmacology department will be involved in the execution of both in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate novel drug candidates and treatment modalities. Major Job Functions * Assist senior scientist in several aspects of in vivo studies * Be involved or independently conduct both in vivo and vitro assays including mouse necroscopy, tissue harvesting, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, Western blot and other related assays as needed. * Maintain accurate and timely records of experimental protocols, data, and interpretations in laboratory notebooks Education, Licensure and/or Experience * Pursuing a B.Sc. in biology, cell and molecular biology or related field * Prior hands-on experience of molecular biology techniques including RNA extraction, qRT-PCR and Western blot is a plus. * Not afraid to work with mice * Good oral and written communication skills. * Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism). * Ability to work well in collaborative fast-paced team environment. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with handling laboratory mice is a plus. Physical Job Requirements: Office/Lab environment. Lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.
