Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift, 2:30pm-11:00pm)

Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance. Must be well-rounded, and can perform on a variety of equipment units, electrical work, perform machine and building maintenance, and assist with basic groundskeeping.

Maintenance Technician duties and responsibilities
Electrical maintenance and repairs
Perform repairs for malfunctioning machines and equipment units, broken structures
Minor building, HVAC, plumbing and painting repairs as necessary
Implement preventative maintenance measures
Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
Install machinery systems
Inspect fire and alarm systems
Read blueprints and survey structures on grounds
Work together with Supply Chain in selection and contracting specialists on larger maintenance related projects and advise of new equipment purchases
Train employees on proper equipment usage
Perform administrative computer tasks as needed
Act as on-call Maintenance Technician when needed
Able to communicate at all levels of workforce.
Able to read and interpret blue prints.
Promotes a culture of safety awareness within the Maintenance community.
Ensures his/her work areas are safe, clean and orderly at all times.
Follows the company policies and procedures on health, safety and environmental.
Uses QUEST to report RIR and for follow up on action items.
Must be able to work and function in a team environment.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize duties.
Previous Experience and Competencies:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an certification or apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician a plus
3+ years Maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry
PMs and troubleshooting
Hydraulics and pneumatics
PLCs
Electrical knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Broad knowledge of Maintenance procedures, principles and regulations
Problem Solving - innovative quality solutions
Excellent decision-making skills
Able to work independently, yet also collaborate with the team as needed
Ability to manage occasional projects
Ability to advise peer groups and senior management
Understand interaction of and collaborate with all center disciplines
Comply with applicable company policies, including Personnel, Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental
Successfully complete required safety and new employee required training
Detail oriented and organizational
Thorough working knowledge of facility equipment units, their usage, and safety procedures
Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently
Must have a flexible schedule
