    About Noble Research Institute

    We are on a mission to provide farmers and ranchers the skills and tools to regenerate the land to be profitable and environmental stewards. At Noble Research Institute we research, demonstrate, and teach principles and practices of regenerative land stewardship. Our goal is to remove, mitigate or avoid the barriers deterring the lasting use of regenerative management practices in grazing animal production. These barriers consist of:

    • Lack of available, science-based management knowledge.

    • Lack of guides and mentors.

    • Economic uncertainty in adoption and operations as well as ongoing risk.

    • Cultural/societal influences.

    About the Role

    As the Lead Instructional Designer you will support the team in exploring user needs and constraints and ideating and prototyping product offerings that could include hybrid, in-person, and online learning solutions. The goal of solutions is to effectively engage, educate, and support the adoption of regenerative practices in the field.

    Responsibilities 

    Instructional Design

    • Apply principles of adult learning and instructional design processes (such as ADDIE), to create educational products that may include face-to-face classroom, eLearning, blended designs, non-linear designs, self-development designs, multiple module course curricula, action learning and media-based learning.

    • Participate in needs analysis and interact with subject matter experts to inform the design and development of educational products.

    • Generate the layout of the eLearning content and blended learning solutions through storyboarding and authoring and the layout of learning supports.

    • Design content and associated metrics that optimize learning.

    Collaboration 

    • Partner with other members of Strategic Learning and Outreach (SLO) to develop eLearning versions of the classroom and written training materials.

    • Collaborate with graphics design and video personnel to create high-quality media that supports the learner’s success.

    • Participate in project teams on a variety of initiatives including new technology, new products, and special events.

    Strategic Support

    • Test learning designs and iterate content to ensure it aligns with learner’s needs.

    • Review and test new and revised curriculum offerings from other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement and contribute to new curriculum or program ideas.

    • Assist with quality control, proofreading, and distribution of courseware.

    External Relationships

    • Cultivate and steward external relationships capable of partnering with and/or supporting the Institute's outreach and education programming, actively identify new relationships work within the Institute's system of relationship management, including coordinating with Strategic Alliances as appropriate.

    Metrics

    • Partner with customers and subject matter experts to analyze and document educational outcomes and learning objectives that support learners in their journey to apply the principles of regenerative ranching successfully and profitably.

    Customer Service

    • Use a customer-service-focused approach for all interactions and tasks. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with employees, contractors, visitors and guests.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Education or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in development of eLearning development and educational materials. Experience with agricultural education a plus!

    • Effective interpersonal relations, good communication skills, and a commitment to customer-focused services.

    • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to change in environments and priorities.

    • Ability to track several projects simultaneously and complete tasks promptly.

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
