Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the overnight (NOC) shift at our residential detox unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care, ensure safe detox protocols, and support clients in the early stages of recovery. This is a direct patient care role in a non-hospital, residential setting.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine rounds and wellness checks throughout the night to monitor client safety and stability.
Administer prescribed medications, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) and PRN medications, in accordance with physician orders and detox protocols.
Monitor and document withdrawal symptoms using CIWA, COWS, and other relevant assessment tools.
Communicate any medical or psychiatric concerns to the on-call provider or clinical team as appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation and incident reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
Complete intake assessments and vitals for new admissions during the shift.
Respond to medical emergencies and apply appropriate nursing interventions.
Maintain a calm, therapeutic environment that supports client recovery and well-being.
Ensure medication compliance, including narcotics counts and documentation.
Collaborate with other overnight staff including BHTs to maintain safety and protocol adherence.
Support and uphold HIPAA and client confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
Current, unrestricted California LVN/LPN license
Minimum of 1 year experience in substance use disorder, behavioral health, or detox.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Knowledge of withdrawal management protocols, including CIWA and COWS.
Strong documentation and EMR skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Valid TB clearance
Priority given to:
Veterans
Applicants with 2+ years' experience in SUD tx or psych environment
Familiarity with trauma informed care
Understanding of harm-reduction principles
Experience with Joint Commission and CARF surveys with successful accreditation results
