FLEX OPERATOR (DAY SHIFT) FOR WEEKENDS (FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Flex Operator Role is responsible for learning everything needed to maintain the line. This means learning startup, shutdown, and the ability to maintain the line while adjusting the process as needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely Setup, Startup/Shutdown, change over, and operate a machine in extrusion following established policies and procedures to achieve and exceed quality and performance standards.
- Support world-class culture by consistently demonstrating a positive attitude, teamwork, performance, and personal development.
- Flexibility to adjust to different day-to-day requirements dependent on business needs. As a Flex Operator you will serve in areas of production where needed.
- Read SOPs and drawings to determine the materials needed as well as the process required including the required machine setup making the adjustments needed to ensure product quality.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks for products and processes.
- Perform material handling responsibilities.
- Begin to gain an understanding of LEAN manufacturing and its importance
- Record machine, process, production, material, and quality information in the appropriate systems.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested, directed, and assigned within a startup-like environment.
- Prior extrusion experience desired but not required.

- Use of fingers, hands, and arms to lift, reach, move, and examine equipment
- Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch
- Discipline to follow all safety and health policies in accordance to OSHA guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS, AND DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- High school diploma or GED is required at the time of hire. Must also complete all Flex operator 1 Training Requirements within 1 year of Hire
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing role preferred
- Lean essentials certification (Will Discuss more at time of hire)
- Paulson Extrusion Training must be completed within 6 months
- Become certified to operate a forklift within 6 months
- Analytical ability to comprehend and perform moderate-level math calculations
- Strong communication and computer skills with the ability to use technically precise language as needed, both verbal and written
- Dedicated to high-performance, ability to recover quickly and learn from mistakes and failures with a growth mindset, and well organized
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Model a great attitude, team dynamics, and individual performance
- Ability to perform moderate levels of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
- Discipline to follow all safety and health policies and procedures
The training courses mentioned above are minimum requirements and are subject to change or can be substituted if the courses mentioned above are not available or a better option is available.
