About the Role:
PROLUX MEDICAL TRANSPORT LLC is looking for a compassionate and reliable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our growing team in Charlottesville, VA. In this role, you'll play a vital part in helping patients safely reach their medical appointments with dignity and care. Responsibilities:
Safely transport patients to and from non-emergency medical appointments, dialysis centers, therapy sessions, and other healthcare facilities
Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices in the vehicle
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met
Communicate professionally with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and patients regarding scheduling and trip updates
Follow all traffic laws, HIPAA guidelines, and company safety protocols at all times
Provide courteous, patient-centered service to elderly, disabled, and medically vulnerable passengers
Requirements:
Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Ability to operate wheelchair lifts, ramps, and secure mobility devices safely
Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor when working with vulnerable populations
Must pass a background check and drug screening
Ability to operate GPS navigation systems and smartphone applications to safely and efficiently navigate to pick-up and drop-off locations.
