Brown’s Care – Transportation Driver (Non-Emergency Medical / Supported Transportation)
Position: Driver (Part-Time / Full-Time) Location: Ventura / Santa Barbara / San Luis Obispo Counties (Tri-Counties)
Job Summary: Brown’s Care is seeking reliable, professional, and compassionate drivers to provide safe and timely non-emergency transportation services for individuals receiving Regional Center support. Drivers will assist clients with transportation to and from medical appointments, day programs, work programs, and other approved community-based services. This role requires strong communication, patience, and a commitment to safety, confidentiality, and respectful care.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport clients to scheduled appointments and programs
Provide respectful assistance with entering/exiting the vehicle as needed
Ensure clients are properly secured using seatbelts and safety systems
Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage logs, and required documentation
Follow all TCRC transportation policies and HIPAA confidentiality guidelines
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintain a clean, professional, and safe vehicle environment
Communicate with dispatch/management regarding scheduling updates or delays
Respond appropriately to client needs and emergency situations
Maintain professionalism with clients, families, and service coordinators
Qualifications:
Valid California Driver’s License (required)
Clean driving record (required)
Ability to pass background check / DOJ clearance
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Physical Requirements:
Ability to assist clients as needed (walking support, light lifting, etc.)
Ability to sit and drive for extended periods
Ability to safely operate ADA-accessible vehicles (training provided)
Preferred Skills:
Prior transportation, caregiving, or healthcare experience
Knowledge of Ventura/Santa Barbara/SLO county areas
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
