Handyman to manage commercial property, upkeep, activities
Full-time: 8:30 – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with occasional additional hours
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Pay rate: $37k – $42k Annual Salary

Summary:
As Handyman you will manage this 60,000 sq ft center which houses 2 educational programs as well as administrative offices. You will report directly to the Director of Operations and work directly with the Program, with the Operations team members as well as suppliers and vendors.
What you will do:
Perform electrical repairs such as replacement of lamps & commercial ballasts.
Maintain appliances (refrigerators, washing machine, dryers)
Assist in arranging conference-style tables and chairs for events.
Complete minor plumbing issues
Receive packages/deliveries.
Repair drywall
Complete minor painting projects and furniture repairs
Pressure washes the outside areas of the building as needed throughout the year.
Maintain inventory of building maintenance supplies, power tools and equipment.
Schedule and oversee vendors and suppliers.
Assist with AV (projectors, microphone, speakers, etc.), and IT as needed(plugging in computers, monitors, etc.)
Assist with housekeeping and waste management.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial building maintenance is required.
Basic math skills, including U.S. system for measurements, conversions, etc.
Overall friendly and professional demeanor
Ability to operate mechanical tools (hand tools, power tools, leaf blower, genie lift, etc.)
Well organized and able to prioritize work.
Multi-task a diverse number of projects and complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
Problem solver who adapts to a fast-paced environment.
Possess and display a positive attitude.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Experience with standard office equipment, computers, copiers, etc.
Proficient in English, both oral and written.
Physical Demands: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, and walking. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Able to pass a background check.
