OPEN POSITION: DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL / COMPANION

Nonotuck Resource Associates, Inc. is seeking a warm-hearted, well-balanced and active person to provide companionship to a very kind and aspiring man in his early 20s with brain injury, who loves basketball, outdoors, art, cooking and is in process of reintegrating into the local community. 

DIRECT CARE STAFF must develop a strong rapport built on mutuality of love, kindness and respect. 

Responsibilities of the direct care staff include but are not limited to:

•  Identify and engage in person-specific community activities which may include; recreation, social activities or life skill training
• Assist the person in achieving their personal goals 
• Provide companionship and model appropriate social skills to help build and maintain personal relationships.
• Transportation to / from preferred activities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Clean criminal background
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Physical and mental ability to care for another person as evidenced by physician's clearance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

This is a non-exempt position with flexible scheduling of up to 20 hours / week.

Pay rate: $15.00 / hour plus mileage reimbursement
