Nonotuck Resource Associates is a state-wide agency that has provided Shared Living since 1991 to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; as well as adults with acquired brain injuries and elders. Shared living is a 24-hour community-based residential service. We support and assist people who wish to remain living in the community and neighborhoods of their choosing.

SHARED LIVING PROVIDERS

Nonotuck is seeking well balanced caregivers to share their home and life with a person with disabilities. The caregiver(s) helps the person with their daily activities, assist the person with their health and wellness, promote and model a safe and meaningful lifestyle and encourage participation in the community. We consider this to be long term and are looking for at least a three year commitment.

Caregivers receive a generous, tax exempt stipend, monthly in-home visits from Nonotuck staff, clinical and nursing supports, and extensive trainings and certifications. 24-hour emergency on call support and consultation are provided.

No background in human services is necessary.

CAREGIVER QUALIFICATIONS:

•  have an available bedroom to be individualized as the person desires.
•  have a valid driver’s license and own their own insured vehicle.
• Caregivers and their families must be found suitable through a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and National Fingerprint check.
