    MISSION OF ONEOC:

    The mission of OneOC is to accelerate nonprofit success. OneOC provides volunteer, training, consulting, and business services for nonprofits to help them become as efficient and effective as they are passionate about their missions. OneOC’s mission allows non-profits to utilize OneOC’s experience and expertise while minimizing administrative costs therefore increasing funds available for mission purposes. OneOC is exempt from income tax pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. To help accomplish its mission, OneOC also provides accounting services to independent organizations that have their own 501(c)(3) status.

    SUMMARY:

    The Nonprofit Accounting Services Manager position is responsible for managing OneOC’s “external clients” in the Back Office Support Services. This position is responsible for the operational success of the program, ensuring the team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. Acts as the key external face of the Accounting Services program in the community and is responsible for successful revenue generation and sustainability.

    The Nonprofit Accounting Services Manager will have a few signature clients to do monthly accounting services and/or accounting consulting services. A team of Nonprofit Accountants will be reporting to this position for management and review of work. This position ensures that the staff meets the accounting requirements and handles customer service for the clients.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Meets all requirements for confidentiality and for management of corporate, finance and personnel information including distribution controls, secure filing and disposal, and records retention and storage.

    Communicates effectively and courteously with all contacts -- internal and external. Works well with diverse people.

    Maintains current knowledge of and complies with organizational and department policies and procedures.

    Organizes workload throughout the day to meet project timelines and deadlines. Minimizes time spent on personal calls and matters. Meets attendance and punctuality requirements, reports time and attendance accurately.

    Uses skill and judgment to ensure written or verbal outputs are clear, accurate, grammatical and of appropriate tone.

    Supports the vision and goals of OneOC.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Accounting and Financial Management:

    Oversee accounts receivable (A/R), variance reports, price analysis, and budget preparation for service line.

    Maintain QuickBooks Online Certification and necessary continuing education to maintain accounting practices and compliance with nonprofit standards.

    Approve and file 1099s through QuickBooks Online for our clients (about 40 clients and counting).

    Review our client’s books monthly, provide guidance to team as needed to provide final reports to the clients.

    Manage the team’s book of business, tracking hours, and onboarding of new clients.

    Provide consulting services to new and existing clients as needed (restructure chart of accounts, special financial reporting requests, ad hoc projects)

    Team Development and Leadership:

    Lead a team of 4 staff and 1 volunteer (as of August 2025), conducting weekly 1-on-1s, weekly service line meetings, onboarding, and training.

    Support professional development through performance evaluations, Individual Development Plans, trainings, and mentorship.

    Promote a collaborative culture by encouraging team participation in OneOC events.

    Business Development and Marketing:

    Participate in monthly business development meetings and new sales initiatives.

    Conduct price analysis and recommend strategic price increases.

    Responsible for meeting the annual budget goals.

    Lead service line marketing efforts and collateral.

    Support OneOC membership and other service line growth.

    Map customer journeys and enhance customer experience touchpoints.

    Liaise with OneOC and other nonprofit partners for shared services and events.

    Represent the organization at community events, training, and scouting opportunities.

    Compliance:

    Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

    Maintain compliance with funding regulations.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Maintains current knowledge of and complies with organizational and department policies and procedures.

    Meets all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment including prompt injury reporting.

    Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    The Nonprofit Accounting Services Manager should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.

    Five years of office experience using accounting systems (QuickBooks) preferred.

    Three years of experience in a non-profit environment preferred.

    Prior Management experience is highly preferred.

    Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    Passion for mission-driven work and community impact.

    COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS

    Has good general knowledge of computer operations; uses a keyboard and calculator proficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.

    Has general knowledge of accounting software, preferably QuickBooks Online.

    Uses Microsoft Office Word and Excel as well as Internet and email programs proficiently.

    Uses typical office equipment.

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk. Stands and walks throughout the day.

    Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours or more each day.

    Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses and vision sufficient to use equipment.

    Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and on the telephone.

    Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly and 25 pounds occasionally.

    Exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.

    MENTAL AND REASONING REQUIREMENTS

    Uses critical thinking skills to create documents and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Able to set goals based on available information and to plan work in order to meet deadlines.

    Able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historic data.

    Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for services and information from internal or external customers.

    Uses excellent math skills to complete detailed quantitative work; checks for work errors and ensures work is corrected to a highly accurate final version.

    Uses skill and judgment to ensure written or verbal outputs are clear, accurate, grammatical and of appropriate tone.

    OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Maintains professional behavior, dress and appearance at all times.

    Attends meetings, trainings, and OneOC events as requested.

    Assists with other duties as assigned on a regular or occasional basis.

    Must be able to pass a background check, including DOJ and FBI criminal checks.

    Must have reliable transportation for local business travel. If driving a vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license and car insurance in accordance with organization’s policies and procedures and provides related records periodically.
