VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Vice President of Operations
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
HOURS: 40 hours per week / Full Time / Exempt
COMPENSATION: $93,000 - $101,000 annually
WORK LOCATION: Office location in Portland, OR. Flexible/hybrid as needed within the Portland-Metro area. Non-Oregon applicants welcomed. Must relocate within 3 months of signing an offer.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Operations (VPO), reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for providing the day-to-day leadership, oversight and decision-making for all internal operations, policies, and structures. This includes oversight and management of Human Resources, facilities/infrastructure, and organizational culture.
The VPO is a key member of the Executive team along with the CEO, CFO and VP of Communications and Development. As an Executive Team Member, the VP of Operations will supervise two (2) Director Level staff and an administrative staff member, participate in Leadership Team meetings with program managers, directs and executive staff to guide programmatic work in alignment in with the strategic plan, and participate in board meetings.
This position partners with the CEO to share responsibility for the overall development, internal health, and structure of the organization. This position will build a track record of success by working to deepen the organization's impact, ensure a pipeline of talented and diverse staff, and exhibit strong and proactive leadership skills. With PANOW growing quickly, and undergoing a multi-year strategic plan, this role will be a crucial steward of the organization's social justice culture and values, integral to balancing culture and guiding internal expansion at the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources & Talent Development
Assess organizational needs and drive comprehensive solutions in areas such as hiring, retention, performance management, and staff development.
Coach and counsel managers and all staff on organizational matters, performance issues, and conflict management.
Create and execute regular processes (surveys, 1:1s, focus group sessions, etc.) to actively listen to employees at all levels and to support positive employee engagement and trust.
