    NOORDA-COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE Microbiology/Immunology Faculty OVERVIEW The Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine (Noorda-COM) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Microbiology/Immunology Faculty position. The individual in this role will fulfill duties to further the mission of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the College by participating in student education, student mentoring, scholarly activities, and service. Faculty members are encouraged to conduct original research and pursue extramural funding in their research areas of interest. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES • Provides current and appropriate educational content for DO students. • Prepares questions to assess student performance. • Works effectively as a team member to enhance and improve curriculum. • Provides effective, active support as a student advisor and mentor. • Develops a research program and mentors’ students to implement research projects. • Serves on various committees within the College. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Advanced degree (PhD, DO or MD) in Microbiology, Immunology, or an appropriate health-related science. • An exceptional listener with excellent written and oral communication skills • Innovative, resourceful, detailed oriented, with excellent follow through skills • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities • US citizen or have a permanent residency PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Teaching experience: Preference is given to candidates with experience in teaching medical, allied health and/or graduate students. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching microbiology and/or immunology in an osteopathic medical program. Research experience: Demonstration of effective performance in research (e.g. poster presentations, abstracts, invited presentations, successful extramural funding, published articles, etc.) POSITION INFORMATION Salary & Benefits: Full benefits available and salary is commensurate with experience and education. Type: Full-Time ABOUT NOORDA-COM Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine has been granted Pre-accreditation status with the Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation and will admit its first class in the Fall of 2021. The College is located in Provo, in the beautiful Utah Valley, surrounded by the Wasatch mountain range and Utah Lake.
