    REQUIRED

    Education

    Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

    Or Four years of appropriate experience demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Manage all aspects of the Employment Assistance (EA) and the Volunteer Resource program.

    Offer employment assistance that supports customers in identifying short and long- term employment, education/training, and career goals.

    Provide employment skills counseling and resources for self-employment, small business, and entrepreneurial efforts. Offer local market information, employment trend tracking, skills and interest identification, skills development workshops, job bank and referrals. Conduct job fairs and offer linkages to alternate paid employment networks for employment contacts.

    Provide employment workshops to optimize self-marketing skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, job search assistance, federal employment, etc.

    Initiate contact and collaborate with local/national agencies such as U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation/Hiring Our Heroes, Department of Labor, State Employment Agency, and Veterans Organizations for employment opportunities.

    Provide guidance to customers on how to utilize current programs such as DOD Military Spouse Preference Program, Wounded Ill, & Injured Employment Programs, and Current High- Level Employment Initiatives.

    Follow-up with customers and provide employment statistics to FSS leadership on outcome of employment assistance offered. Monthly statistics will include date of session, individual, employment status, assistance provided. The yearly roll-up will include the percentage of individuals gainfully employed.

    Manage all aspects of the Volunteer Resource Services program. Assist the installation commander and collaborate with other base volunteer agencies, for the purpose of, referring Airmen, spouses, and other family members for volunteer opportunities IAW DoDI 1100.21. Administer the Volunteer Excellence Award Program. Announce volunteer opportunities. IAW DAFI 36-3009, Service Member, Family Data Card, volunteer data or service records, may be locally developed, to meet mission requirements. Centers must document volunteer hours when reported in AFFIRST.

    Other functions include.

    Manage all aspects of the Employment Assistance (EA).

    Manage all aspects of the Crisis Support Program

    Support for Special Functions and Interest Requests.
