    Water Resources Practice Leader, Austin

    AUSTIN

    Award-winning engineering consulting firm providing engineering, environmental, water/wastewater and transportation services across Texas.

    This position will require a Texas licensed professional engineer with 15+ years of consulting engineering, design and project management experience. Specific to the role is the need to have a high level of proficiency with hydrological and hydraulic computer modeling software packages including HEC, SWMM, and similar software packages.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to perform and manage analysis and planning of drainage and flood control programs undertaken by regulatory agencies.
    • Manage design staff who are modeling, mapping, alternatives, evaluation, cost estimating and report writing.
    • Prepare and draft proposals that include time and cost on assigned projects.
    • Establish project criteria and standards consistent with the firm's general standards to include the supervision and control of all project activities.
    • Strong preference for individuals who have extensive experience with TxDOT standards and procedures for City of Austin's drainage criteria, procedures and local and regional governing agencies.
    • Must be able to develop and maintain liaison with clients on project status to include timely reporting as requested.
    • As a forward facing consultant, the successful candidate will be an articulate public speaker as well as experience in marketing and public relations activities.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • High-level proficiency with HEC and similar drainage and floodplain design software.
    • Licensed professional engineer (PE) state of Texas.
    • BS Civil Engineering - MS Civil Engineering desired.
    • Familiar with city and local/regional agency criteria and standards.
    • Project Management experience; define, manage, deliver infrastructure drainage/stormwater projects on time/budget.
    • Active involvement with industry/technical organizations such as TFMA, ASCE, others.
