Job Description

We are looking for a goal-driven tax preparer/accountant to be responsible for advising clients, analyzing tax data submitted by clients, and filing and submitting tax returns. Tax preparers should ensure confidentiality, provide excellent service to promote repeat business and provide future tax planning to clients. You will also be responsible for auditing financial documents and procedures and reconciling bank statements. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

To ensure success as a tax preparer/accountant, you should be knowledgeable of legislation and regulations, provide excellent service to clients, and maintain the high standard set by the organization. Ultimately, a top tax preparer will be detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills to handle correspondence from clients and tax authorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Experience with Lacerte tax software
• Experience in write-up work & compilations
• Experience processing payrolls & payroll taxes
• Monthly & quarterly client accounting
• Manage all accounting transactions
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Advising clients about the tax preparation process.
• Auditing all tax forms for completeness and accuracy.
• Publish financial statements in time
• Analyzing tax data submitted by the client to maximize the outcome for the client.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary

​QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields (finance)
• Fundamental knowledge of Lacerte, & Quickbooks
• Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree preferred
• Additional certification (CPA or EA) is a plus
