Currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced COMMERCIAL UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT to assist underwriters with an existing growing book of commercial lines insurance business.

REQUIREMENTS for the Underwriter position are as follows:

• An active Property and Casualty (P&C) license
• A minimum of 5 years experience in the insurance industry.
• Experience with ISO forms & rules a plus
• Comfortable with deadlines.
• Must be able to pay close attention to detail
• Successful problem solver.
• Ability to interact with broker clients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Applied Systems (TAM) is a plus.

DUTIES include:

• Approve and disapprove endorsement requests according to internal and Company guidelines within given authority.
• Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures
• Review and handle policy servicing requests (endorsement, audits, Company requests, Premium Finance and Cancellations, etc.)
• Review inspection reports and compare to the underwriting file and take appropriate actions
• Maintain knowledge & compliance with underwriting authority given
