Position Overview
HatchMed is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales team. This field-based role is responsible for driving sales of HatchMed’s Bed Connectivity product family to hospitals and healthcare systems across NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, WV.
You’ll play a key role in building relationships with clinicians, biomed teams, and purchasing stakeholders, promoting core solutions in our Bed Connectivity product segment including:
- BlackJack - Magnetic Nurse Call Cables
- SnapJack - Magnetic Pillow Speaker Cables
- BlueJack - Wireless Bed Adapters
- HighLight - Adapter Boxes
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong initiative, proven sales performance, and the ability to manage a large, multi-state territory independently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Territory Management
- Collaborate with Sales Director in developing a strategic territory sales plan. Execute strategic territory sales plans to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers within assigned territory.
2. Prospecting & Outreach
- Conduct in-person and virtual prospecting within assigned accounts/territory to generate new opportunities.
3. Product Promotion
- Promote and cross-sell HatchMed’s product portfolio (listed above) to new and existing customers.
4. Knowledge Development
- Build and maintain strong product, technical, and market knowledge to confidently position HatchMed solutions.
5. CRM Management
- Log all customer and prospect interactions in the CRM system (Zoho) to maintain accurate sales data.
6. Performance Reporting
- Provide weekly updates on sales performance and territory progress to the Sales Director.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience.
8. Customer Feedback
- Communicate customer needs and concerns to internal stakeholders in a timely and constructive manner.
9. Training Compliance
- Complete all required training modules related to your role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience , ideally within the medical device or healthcare industry
- Familiarity with hospital environments, purchasing cycles, and clinical stakeholders is highly preferred
- Experience using CRM tools (Zoho preferred)
Job Requirements
- Must live within the Northeast territory (NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, WV)
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
- Willingness to travel up to 30% overnight within the assigned territory
- Comfortable managing a high volume of field-based activity ("road warrior" mindset)
