Job Description

North Brunswick First Aid and Rescue Squad is looking for highly motivated and responsible Emergency Medical Technicians to render emergency medical care to sick, disabled or injured individuals based on signs, symptoms or complaints. We operate 6 BLS units, One Rescue Truck and several support vehicles. As well as 9-1-1 Emergency Transports, NBFARS crews rotate throughout their shift to also complete Non-Emergency Transports throughout the shift.

Qualifications

-Minimum of High School Graduate or equivalent required -Must be at least 19 years old and a US citizen, resident-alien or possess a valid visa to live/work in the USA. -Must have current NJ EMT, NREMT or current certifications listed in N.J.A.C. 8:40A. We require NJ EMT, for anyone with an NREMT or EMT certified through the State of New York or any member state of the Atlantic EMS Council (currently Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia) must obtain NJ-EMT reciprocity within the first 6 months of hire. -Must have current CPR certification (Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer level). -Must have CEVO. -Must have Disabilities Awareness, Incident Command System Certifications ICS 100, ICS 200 (Online okay), and NIMS 700, NIMS 800 -Must have Hazardous Material Awareness & CBRNE Awareness -Must have 2 years of 9-1-1 Experience (9-1-1 experience defined as experience obtained while working as a paid EMT in an emergency response setting with an EMT certification)

• Applicants with less than 2 years of 9-1-1 experience may still apply. These applicants, if hired, will be put into our Apprentice Program. Our Apprentice Program is an approximately 300-Hour Program which places newer EMTs with Field Training Officers (FTO) so they can train and grow as an EMT. Apprentices will start at $16/Hr. and be eligible for evaluation after approximately every 100 hours during their training. If they receive a satisfactory review, they will receive a raise and move on to their next 100 hours of training. The Apprentice program will be completed after satisfactory review with at least 300 hours of training and the applicant will be at our per-diem base rate of $23.00/Hr. -Must Be able to lift and carry minimum of 100 pounds

Full-Time employees will have a base rate at $21.00. Per-Diems Pay: Starting base rate at $23.00
