    The North Carolina Dental Society Foundation seeks talented, engaged intern starting December 1, 2020 to assist the Executive Director/COO in raising funds and awareness for the organization. The mission of the Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, is to reach underrepresented populations with better oral health care. Position Overview: This position is ideal for an entry-level professional or current college/graduate student looking to learn about nonprofit fundraising while gaining experience in a professional setting. Based out of the Cary, North Carolina office, this position is part-time, non-exempt (approx. 16 - 18 hours/week). The internship is paid and is dependent on experience and availability. Primary responsibilities: Working with the Executive Director/COO, the intern will be responsible for assisting with overall fundraising and development-related efforts, including but not limited to: researching potential donors, assisting with writing grant proposals and reports, providing support with mailings, making phone calls, maintaining database records, performing general administrative tasks. Expectations and skills: Intern will be expected to work approximately 16 - 18 hours per week, between the hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday at 1600 Evans Road in Cary, North Carolina. Offices are socially distanced. Some remote work is a possibility. We have a need to fill this position by December 1, 2020. Prior interning experience is not a requirement, but we do expect strong time-management, organizational skills, quick learner with the ability to self-motivate. Intern should be comfortable working independently as well as with a supervisor and team. Must have strong computer skills, including strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Other: Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to lift/carry minimum of 15 lbs., capable of standing for one hour or more, candidate is subject to criminal background check.
