Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT) leads the way in developing today’s workforce and anticipating the occupations and skills needed in the future. The programs it oversees are designed to ensure that businesses in the 14-county region (excluding Tarrant and Dallas counties) remain competitive and grow jobs, provide workers with opportunities to obtain skills to help them become or remain self-sufficient, and ensure that the communities served by the WSNCT are economically resilient. With a staff of 42 employees, WSNCT is housed within the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) offices in Arlington, Texas. While the WSNCT operates as a separate group that reports to the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board, the staff of the WSNCT are employees of the NCTCOG. The NCTCOG is a voluntary association of cities, counties, school districts, and special districts within the 16-county North Central Texas region. NCTCOG was established in January 1966, authorized by State enabling legislation (Chapter 391 – Local Government Code), to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development.  WSNCT is seeking a passionate and relational leader who possesses a combination of creativity and strategy to make an effective impact on WSNCT’s ability to meet and exceed its goals and objectives to serve as the new Workforce Solutions Executive Director. A combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is desired. Generally, this includes a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work related to business administration, finance, human resources, public administration, community and economic development, planning, or a related field. This position requires at least eight years of increasingly responsible leadership experience including five years of managerial experience in leading staff and programs of a complex department or division primarily engaged in planning, community development, economic development, and development services. Candidates with a government background or a private-sector economic development background with experience working with local governments are highly desired. The compensation range for the Workforce Solutions Executive Director is $122,972-$207,077.
