    This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, operational planning, implementation and management of the Metro Government Strong Babies Grant.  This position serves as the administrative manager of the grant and oversees compliance of all grant objectives, including grant reports and care coordination.  This position serves as principal point of representation and liaison with internal and external constituencies on operational matters, and provides day-to-day technical/professional guidance and leadership as appropriate to the area of expertise. This position will work closely with the PI, Pediatric Department Administrator and Pediatric Chair on all reporting requirements.

     

     

    • Manages and oversees the administrative and daily operations of the Strong Babies Grant, ensuring compliance with all grant objectives. Assists in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Maintains effective communication with project staff to ensure outcomes are met in a timely fashion. • Directs the outreach and treatment efforts of providers and ensure follow-up occurs with patients and progress is being tracked utilizing approved database system. • Designs and develops or assists with design and development of programmatic methodology. Reviews patient files to ensure appropriate information is collected and evaluation forms are completed. • Oversees and/or coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports. Reports progress, as required, to the partner agencies and complete required progress reports. • Schedules and attends meetings with partner agencies to ensure the effectiveness of the program. Communicates and networks with partner departments and local agencies to ensure referrals are made smoothly and that follow-up on these referrals is made. • Meet regularly with the principal investigator and grant team members to report progress. • Assists in producing, developing, advertising, and marketing projects and products in various media such as print and video; may assist in developing teaching materials, handouts, news releases, pamphlets, and brochures. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrate strong managerial skills, managing with excellence this large-scale community-based participatory research project, working with community, clinical and professional persons who have expertise in and engage in health assessment, screening and general intervention programs.
    • Experience in proposal development, report writing, and grants management
    • Proven abilities to work efficiently and effectively with local, state and federal agencies.
    • Strong experience with program and infrastructure development.
    • Must be organized, creative, independent and self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, and driven by excellence.
    • Must possess exceptional communication skills to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form, including accurate grammar and business correspondence knowledge.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective business relationships; demonstrated ability to communicate in situations requiring tact and poise
    • Thorough knowledge of office administration (including efficient filing systems, office machines and equipment, and computer software)
    • Skilled in customer service and employee relations
    • Must be able to supervise program staff and comply with College employee policies and procedures
    • Must be able to multi-task, and focus with composure, in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals and governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers, clients, and the general public.

    Required Experience

    • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university is desired
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in health care settings.
    • Supervisory experience required.
    • Previous grant management and writing experience preferred.
