  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY Follow released procedures and/or semi-autonomous test programs to test and analyze a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical equipment and systems for fit/form/function/reliability. Participate in evaluation of test designs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Adhere to all safety procedures and precautions. Work often involves live circuitry that could be as low as 5V DC or as high as 480V AC.
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues utilizing schematics and wire run lists
    • Test and record results using basic electrical test equipment (DVM, ground bond tester, phase detector, etc)
    • Use of basic hand tools (screw drivers, torque wrenches, hex drives, etc) to prep for test, resolve issues, and prep units for shipment
    • Perform related duties of similar complexity as directed.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain/Operate engineering tools and 5S protocols under normal supervision.
    • Provide written and verbal feedback concerning test procedures, problems, Engineering design, parts procurement, and schedule conflicts.
    • Use Axcelis Operating Systems including Glovia, SmarTeam, and Insight for day to day business.
    • Mentor/Train others of less seniority/experience.
    • Follow defined policies and procedures.

    Knowledge of: Cell's test operations. Leak checking. Microsoft Word. Microsoft EXCEL. Working from prints, procedures, planning schedules, and verbal and written instructions. Safety policies and procedures within the assembly process. Axcelis Operating Systems including Glovia, SmarTeam, and Insight.

     Skilled at: Problem solving. Troubleshooting, assembly, basic  testing, disassembly and rebuilding electromechanical units, subassemblies and complete machine modules.

    Travel: Ability to travel on short notice.  Percent of travel required up to 5%.

    May be certified in some of the cells' complex assembly and test operations.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English sufficiently well to perform job functions.
    • Work under supervision and work with cross-functional teams.
    • Perform/develop complex electrical and electromechanical tests working from schematics, drawing, test procedures and machine specifications.
    • Develop documentation for test procedures. Interact effectively with personnel at basic level.
    • Take on responsibility for actions taken.
    • Be flexible and open toward change and/or different ideas.
    • Coordinate test for different test platforms.
    • Knowledge of vacuum theory and general-purpose lab equipment, e.g. DVM, oscilloscopes.
    • Reliability, test, and quality programs. Semiconductor Industry. Design review process. Customer Focus.
