What You’ll Do:
Respond to all requests promptly from both internal and external customers.
Develop quotes that maximize profits while remaining competitive in the marketplace.
Fully understand, embrace, and market the company’s competitive advantages.
Purchase steel and outside services as necessary to fulfill orders.
Maintain strong product knowledge to assist customers and provide the highest level of customer service.
Provide technical support and assembly drawing analysis for customers and Inside Sales teams.
Always be “on the lookout” for new business and identify profitable opportunities consistent with our company’s long-term strategic plan.
Contribute to the development of sales forecasts and market segment objectives by product segment.
Meet regularly with the Product Manager to review sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
Participate in and assist with carbon steel product knowledge and processing services training.
Work to build profitable relationships with prospective customers and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
Develop sales strategies and effective sales practices to increase profitable sales consistently.
Systematically remain in contact with customers and prospects through personal visits, telesales, email, networking, and direct mail.
Develop innovative and non-traditional means to increase sales and better serve customers.
What You’ll Need:
Experience with reading drawings and doing take-offs. (Preferred).
Plate sales with processing such as machining, burning, forming, rolling, and welding.
Understand and interpret material grade and weld specifications (Preferred).
Knowledge of carbon plate grades
Proven track record of maintaining relationships with existing customers and building a business with prospective customers.
Able to negotiate successfully.
High analytical capacity with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task based on priorities.
Maintains confidence in decision-making with a positive impact on customers and the organization.
Highly motivated and enjoys working within a high-paced team atmosphere.
Displays emotional intelligence, passion, adaptability, thoroughness, patience, and independence.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred skills and knowledge include:
Experience with exotic steels such as stainless, chrome molly, and nickels, among others.
Knowledge of additional steel goods such as structural, pipe, fittings, and other industrial steel products.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
Education & Experience:
Preferred: Minimum three years of related experience as a Plate Processing Inside Sales Representative specializing in areas such as machining, burning, forming, rolling, and welding.
