    Primary Position Objectives


    Responsible for a paraprofessional level of student support and performance duties necessary for an orderly operation of the dormitory program. Responsible for the supervision of students to ensure a safe and secure environment. Must be available to work any shift and day of the week due to a 24/7 operation.



    Brief Description of Duties


    • Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living situation and to accomplish their goals and objectives.
    • Recommend and arrange student visits to counselor.
    • Direct dorm activities as designated including dormitory government, dormitory courts, dormitory competitions.
    • Monitor dormitories and center as required to ensure safety and proper behavior of students; resolve potential or occurring problems.
    • Complete performance evaluations for all assigned students and participate on career management team panels.
    • Assist with recreational activities for students on- and off-center.
    • Transport students to and from recreational functions, airport, bus stations, or for supplies as required.
    • Prepare the morning report, pass list and other administrative correspondence relating to students.
    • Direct students and assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory.
    • Recommend or requisition supplies to provide needs for dorm living and safety of students.
    • Conduct social skills training and other group sessions in accordance with the schedule; participate in and conduct activities, as assigned.
    • Provide for the special needs of the parents and children.
    • Works towards meeting performance standard goals.
    • Adheres to required property control policies and procedures.
    • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
    • Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
    • Demonstrates and abides by Serrato Corporation’s core values and operating principles.
    • Maintain accountability of students, children and property; adhere to safety practices.
    • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
    • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, ans basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
    • Ability to develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships children and families.
    • Knowledge of residential living and dormitory procedures and practices.
    • High level of communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.

    Experience


    Minimum one year working with youth or related experience and/or training.


    Education


    High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree in a human services field such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or related fields is preferred.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations


    Valid State Driver’s License.
