North Wind Resource Consulting maintains offices across the country. JOB DESCRIPTION

    North Wind Resource Consulting, LLC is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst II with 1-5 years' experience to support a U.S Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client in Washington, D.C. Typical work tasks include updating/processing geospatial data, completing mapping requests, creating, and maintaining ArcGIS Online/eGIS Portal content, reporting on metrics and analyses, and attending client meetings. Most of the work will be performed remotely, with regular visits to the client site in Washington, D.C occurring as needed and occasional out-of-state travel for larger client meetings. Due to client location, preference will be given to candidates in the Washington, D.C. region; however, other highly qualified candidates may also be considered.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Geographic Information Systems or a related discipline and 1-5 years' experience (Master's degree can be substituted for experience).
    • Knowledge, understanding, and experience using Esri's ArcGIS software suite to manipulate, convert, analyze, and map geospatial data.
    • Advanced mapmaking skills and the ability to understand client needs and decide how best to display GIS data.  
    • Strong data management skills, including the ability to efficiently integrate large amounts of GIS data into pre-defined schemas.
    • High proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and experience creating content in ArcGIS Online/eGIS Portal, including hosted features, Web Apps, Dashboards, and StoryMaps. Basic scripting skills (Python, Arcade, ModelBuilder, etc.) are also preferred.
    • Experience executing GIS deliverables for clients or other prior consulting experience is preferred.
    • The candidate must also demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to independently balance multiple project priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Applicants must also be a U.S. Citizen either by birth or naturalization. In addition, they must pass a DHS background investigation to gain clearance to access potentially sensitive data.
