    North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.

    ** _ Job Description_**

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    Perform field implementation of project waste management plans. Assist the Waste Management Specialist with maintaining documentation of waste shipments, container loading, and inspections.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Data entry and tracking
    • Visual inspections of containers
    • Assist with inspections and documentation of wastes managed in accumulation areas
    • Maintain inventory of waste management supplies
    • Assist with inspections of outgoing shipments

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    As assigned, but may include

    • Environmental sampling of various media (soil, water, wastes)
    • Preparation of sample Chain of Custodies

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education and Experience:

    Minimum Qualifications :

    • High school Diploma or equivalent
    • Must be able and licensed to operate a motorized vehicle
    • Able to pass HAZWOPER/respirator user medical exam
    • Applicant should be able to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team
    • Required to complete background check for DOE badging
    • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
    • Basic knowledge of applicable state and federal waste regulations

    QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

    • 40 hour HAZWOPER trained and up to date
    • DOT HAZMAT Transportation trained
    • Environmental sampling experience (soil, groundwater, various wastes)

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    (If necessary, include ability to travel or ability to work overtime.)

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to lift 25 pounds as required
    • Applicant must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (heat)

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    Working environment will be a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities and working around heavy equipment and trucks.
