    North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management. ** _

    POSITION PURPOSE:_**
    The Laborer shall perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers. The General Labor shall have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, be reliable, and deal with people in a positive manner. They will report to the Superintendent. ** _

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_**

    • Lifting and carrying materials such as pipe, moving hoses, decontaminating equipment and materials, flagging, and other strenuous tasks
    • Inspect, maintain, and operate assigned manual and power tools.
    • Operation of tools in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Truck wash with high-pressure hose operation
    • Load/unload/place various materials

    ** ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

    • Provide general labor support with site works as needed.
    • Collection of debris

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:_
    **
    Education and Experience:**

    • High Diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Previous construction and soil removal work experience preferred
    • Department of Energy (DOE) experience is highly preferred

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to work safely and efficiently
    • Ability to regularly move at least 50-lbs manually
    • Ability to follow supervisory verbal and written instructions and designated health and safety requirements.
    • Small tools proficient.

    Special Requirements:

    • Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment
    • Security requirements determined by the installation. Limited background check and fingerprinting required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:_**

    • Have a valid State Driver's License
    • Current 40 hour Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:_

    • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions or difficult terrain.
    • Be able to perform physical labor – lifting, stairs, ladders, etc.
