    ** ** _ Job Description**

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The Accountant is responsible for providing financial services on behalf of the North Wind Group of companies. Preference will be given to candidates who possess working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, and accounting software for government contractors. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: performing A/R, A/P, contract entry, reconciliations and reporting functions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for providing accounting on behalf of NWG.
    • Reconciliation of bank accounts monthly.
    • Analyze financial information for accuracy, trends and/or compliance with governing regulations.
    • Review the Project Ledger including reconciliation to the General Ledger, monthly and year-end maintenance, account reconciliations and maintenance of sub-ledgers.
    • Provide project specific request during the year-end audit process.
    • Performing A/R, A/P, contract entry, reconciliations and reporting functions.
    • Accounts Payable
      • Perform the day-to-day processing of subcontractor accounts payable transactions.
      • Maintains files for all vendor invoices.
    • Accounts Receivable * Create and issue client invoices - working in cooperation with the PIC and PM in charge of each project. * File invoice copies in project files. * Follow up with clients to make sure invoices have been received. * Assist with sending Client Statements when requested. * Prepare daily deposits. * Reconcile the client invoices to GL. * Set up new projects. * Assist PIC and PMs with project reporting as needed. * Assist with reconciling accounts for monthly period close.

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist project team as needed.
    • Assist accounting Manager as needed.
    • Assist with special projects as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

    • Accounting Degree or Equivalent Required ** __**

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Must possess computer skills using Excel, Word, Adobe, ERP systems
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Self-motivated individual who takes ownership of and follows through assigned tasks. ** __**

    Special Requirements:

    • Must pass pre-employment background check.
    • Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
    • Must have a valid driver license.
    • Ability to pass U.S. Government employment background check and acquire U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Preference will be given to candidates who possess working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, an accounting software for government contractors.
    • Knowledge of billing multiple government type contracts: Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable, and Time & Materials
    • Basic applicable knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to use hands or fingers to handle, feel, type and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    This position is in a general office setting with low to moderate noise.
