    Incorporated in 2011, North Wind Resource Consulting's core capabilities include environmental documentation and permitting; natural and cultural resource surveys; wildlife and botanical expertise; National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) technical services; historic and prehistoric surveys; environmental consultation such as Section 106 for cultural resources, Section 404 for wetlands, and Section 7 for endangered species); and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping capabilities. North Wind Resource Consulting maintains offices across the country.

    ** _ Job Description_**

    • Tribal monitors will be knowledgeable about their respective tribe's history and traditional practices, making them uniquely qualified to identify cultural resources important to their respective tribes. •
    • Tribal monitors will be individuals identified by each respective tribe who know their communities' values and are the communities' traditional cultural practitioners who are uniquely qualified to adequately monitor for their respective tribes during construction. •
    • Utilize recording forms for discoveries developed by the TCMP PM in conjunction with Reclamation and participating Tribes. •
    • Participate in the NGWSP PA cultural resources discovery protocol and Notice to Proceed process.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of places of cultural, historical, and ceremonial importance, to their respective tribes as well as places related to tribes' origin histories and traditional geographic and ecological knowledge.
    • Ability to coordinate with traditional cultural practitioners, and tribal cultural and resource leaders to document places of significance and develop appropriate treatment plans for affected resources.
    • Able-bodied and capable of light-duty work at a construction site.
    • May require some walking 1-2 miles per day over uneven terrain.
    • Ability to complete narrative sections on forms, read maps, and use handheld GPS devices.
    • Ability to effectively translate cultural knowledge and significance of place to non-tribal project sponsors, team members, and supervisory construction personnel for compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations.
    • Valid State drivers license.
    • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screen and pass a background check.
