    North Wind Services, is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customers mission. Available employment opportunities may range from administrative and logistical support to advanced technical positions.

    Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

    Successful candidates will be employees of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly-motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratories. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.

    The Emergency Management Department (EMD) has an opening for an Alarms Monitor Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for simple to complex system configuration and administrative support in connection with the Alarm Central System. Deferred Maintenance System and Inventory Tracking System. The successful candidate will work closely with database staff and skilled technical personnel to assist with operation of alarm systems by handling data entry, preparing and processing of information and responding to general requests of information. This position is in the Emergency Management Division within the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O).

    This position may require the Alarm Monitor/Coordinator have the flexibility to work overtime, shift and or weekends to accomplish goals. The successful candidate will be required to pass various on-site training modules to pursue work assignments.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    -Provide data configuration and general coordination support to assist with operation of alarms systems by handling data entry, preparing and processing of information, and responding to general information requests. Handle moderately complex technical tasks, while working independently on familiar tasks.

    -Maintain appropriate records and reports to support project needs. Provide task statuses to supervisors and/or other requestors. -Coordinate, track, and document daily Alarms Division Deferred Maintenance work activities, including fire alarms, emergency paging, alarm systems mechanical and/or electronic fabrications, and installation projects. -Partner and collaborate with alarms personnel to understand their needs and bring feedback to database staff for system enhancements. -Perform other duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

    -Associate degree in a technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    -Comprehensive knowledge of end user functions and business processes and ability to provide data configuration and general coordination support to assist with operation of alarms systems by handling data entry, preparing and processing of information, and responding to information requests.

    -Experience in related field to coordinate, track, and document moderately complex work activities, including fire alarms, emergency paging, alarm systems mechanical and/or electronic fabrications, and installation projects.

    -Ability to effectively manage moderately complex technical tasks with competing priorities and meet deadlines that are important to project success.

    -Effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel and the ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

    -Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through.

    -Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as a team member, and to interact effectively with all levels of personnel. Experience working with complex software applications and ability to learn new data management systems with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and calendaring applications.

    -Knowledge of LLNL safety and security guidelines, and regulations, and perform all assignments in accordance with ES&H, security, and business practice requirements and policies.

    DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

    • Database knowledge such as Microsoft SQL Server.

    • Knowledge of fire alarms or emergency alarm systems.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    PRE-PLACEMENT MEDICAL EXAM: A job related pre-placement medical examination may be required.

    PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment drug test.

    ANTICIPATED CLEARANCE LEVEL: N/A (position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
