    _** ** _ Job Description**

    • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering tasks within the project
    • Developing technical scopes of work, specifications and requirements for technical project tasks and activities.
    • Developing, implementing, and overseeing work packages, work controlling documents, plans and procedures, specifications, data collection methods and performance standards for field execution of work
    • Analyzing potential hazards and developing and implementing engineering controls to mitigate hazards
    • Developing bid packages (scopes of work, specifications, etc.) for subcontracted work packages and developing specifications for the equipment, material and other project procurements
    • Ensuring procured goods and services meet specification requirements
    • Performing oversight of field activities to ensure compliance with budget, schedule, plans, procedures, and specifications
    • Cooperating and communicating with the project and operations managers, project team members, and senior engineers to perform value engineering analyses, determine, and implement efficiency improvements to enhance performance against budget and schedule
    • Creating and implementing frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
    • Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
    • Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
    • Participate in project oversight, documenting field work through daily reporting, photographs, and written and verbal communication with North Wind site and corporate management.
    • Develop, submit and track material submittals and deliverables (product cut-sheets, etc.)
    • Support the Project team, as needed, through cost estimating, scheduling, subcontractor performance oversight and reporting, quantity tracking, and job forecasting. Identify changes in site conditions and assumptions, and work closely with Project Controls and Project Management to manage change quickly and accurately.
    • Provide schedule status updates, evaluate project budget metrics and perform budget forecasting
    • Review subcontractor invoices and make recommendations for payment. Participate in client invoice preparation.
    • Maintain project files, including document control for engineering and construction paperwork and correspondence
    • Assist in preparation of project records (e.g., as-builts).

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions

    Work will be performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Work may include walking on uneven surfaces over long periods of time. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds several times per day. Work may include long days (up to 12 hours), with overtime pay provided for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge and Experience

    • B.S. degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
    • Five or more years of relevant engineering experience in a project setting
    • Experience in earthwork, civil construction, excavation water management, excavation shoring / stabilization, BMPs, stormwater controls and/or surveying preferred
    • Experience in field data collection and data management preferred
    • Experience in field engineering including quantity tracking, evaluation of field conditions against contract requirements, tracking cut and fill, oversight of direct-hire and subcontracted craft labor, etc.
    • Experience developing scopes of work and technical specifications for subcontract Requests for Proposals
    • Ability to perform material take-off from plans and experience specifying and estimating materials, quantities, and labor hours along with associated costs
    • Familiarity with typical construction office tasks (e.g., RFI and Submittal routing, materials procurement, and logistics)
    • Professional certification (i.e. EIT) and previous experience in hazardous and/or radioactive remediation preferred

    Skills and Abilities

    • Must exhibit qualities of leadership, self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound judgment, and determination.
    • Must be able to read and interpret project plans and specifications, and monitor work progress against the requirements.
    • Must be able to utilize multiple word-processing and database applications including Microsoft® Office applications (Word, Excel, Access), as well as Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of engineering and construction software (Microsoft Project, CAD, Sage Timberline) is a plus.
    • Current, valid driver's license.
    • Strong communication, prioritization and organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
