    SCHOOL INFORMATION

    NorthPointe Christian Schools is an independent Christian school formed in 1972 serving over 1,200 preschool through high school students from over 120 churches. NPC's pairs academic excellence with a strong, Christ-centered environment to reach our mission of "equipping students to impact their world for Jesus Christ."

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This is a part-time position for the 2024-2025 school year as an Instructional Aide in our Home & School Hybrid Program.

    • 16 hours per week, two days per week from 7:30am-3:30pm
    • This position is in the Kindergarten/First Grade classroom

    EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the School’s Foundational Statements and mission through word and deed.
    • Integrate Biblical principles and Scripture into daily activities.
    • Minister to students through prayer, encouragement, and wise counsel.
    • Follow safety protocols for where students can be and how to secure the building.
    • Professionally represents the school in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
    • Remain professional in attire and behavior.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all matters pertaining to students, employees, and donors as outlined in NPC’s Confidentiality Agreement.
    • Be timely in reporting to work and when at work.
    • Carry out the procedures and protocols in the employee handbook and respect decisions made by leadership.
    • Maintain open communication with leadership regarding questions, concerns, and needs.
    • As a representative of the school, all written and verbal interactions with parents/guardians, co-workers, and the community must be professional and reflect the school positively. This includes one’s appearance, the content of the communication, and presentation of it.

    JOB DUTIES

    • The position supports the Hybrid staff in daily functions of the program
    • Facilitate small groups, offering reading and math support

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian School’s Foundational statements.
    • Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
    • Teaching background preferred
    • Flexibility in team/student demands.
    • Discernment and creativity in meeting student needs.
    • Exhibit the verbal ability to understand meaning of words, the ideas associated with them, and the ability to convey them to others clearly using oral expression and comprehension.

    • Physically able to:
      • Frequently stand and sit for extended periods of time.
      • Frequently use manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate equipment, and move around the classroom.
      • On occasion, engage with students while kneeling, squatting, stooping, or bending 50-70 degrees at the waist.
      • Exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
      • Perform daily repetitive movement of fingers and hands when writing and typing.
      • Read printed and electronic material daily. See with clarity objects using close, distant, and peripheral vision.
      • Sufficiently hear conversations in person and distinguish sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
    • Must be able to maintain continuous safety of the students and respond quickly and appropriately to any threat toward their well-being.
