  • Responsibilities

    The Housing Technician is an integral part of the NorthSight Recovery (NSR) team. This position ensures safety for patients residing in an all-male NorthSight Recovery Transitional Living. In addition to ensuring safety, this position provides experience, strength, and hope.

    Responsibilities include:

    - Orient all new residents and ensure they have signed and acknowledged all-new resident documentation outlined in NSR policies and procedures

    - Walk the property at the beginning and end of each shift; any issues with the physical building or residents will be documented in the end-of-shift report

    - Ensure residents adhere to the housing schedule outlined, follow NSR policy and procedure, and report any schedule deviation to their direct supervisor and notate in the end-of-shift report

    - Exercise good judgment with all residents on and off the property

    - Facilitate life skill meetings as outlined in the NSR group schedule and document them in NSR’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) by the end of the shift

    - Ensure all residents comply with House Rules and report violations to the direct supervisor

    - Provide or coordinate transportation for clients to and from necessary medical and behavioral health services, as needed; coordination efforts will be documented in NSR EHR

    - Administer Urine Drug Screen (UDS) and breathalyzer to residents, as needed; positive results will be reported to their direct supervisor immediately, and results will be documented in NSR’s EHR

    - Ensure that all residents are present and accounted for at curfew unless the resident has an approved overnight pass; during the night shift: complete bed checks as directed and document them in NSR’s EHR

    -Ensure that UDS and breathalyzer are administered to any resident upon returning from a pass

    - Observing self-administered medication in accordance with policies and procedures; ensure accurate counts of medication for all residents; any discrepancy in counts will be reported to their direct supervisor; self-administration of medications will be documented in NSR’s EHR

    - Will ensure all residents complete house chores and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the house

    - Send end-of-shift notes to and document the shift note in the patient's medical record

    - Complete any additional duties, as reasonably requested by their direct supervisor

    Physical Requirements

    - Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required infrequently

    - This job may require being outside in extreme weather for limited periods of time

    - This job may have exposure to bodily fluids: PPE is provided by the company.

    - This type of work involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping from brief periods of time to lengthy periods of time.

    - This position may require ascension and descension of one or more flights of stairs throughout the shift.

    - This job will require driving at various times of the day with multiple people in the vehicle.

    -This job may require personnel to work weekends or nights as a regular part of the job decided by an agreement with the direct supervisor. There is the potential for overtime shifts.

    All NorthSight Recovery Housing Technicians will minimally meet the following requirements.

    - Due to our company drug policy, we require all employees to abstain from all mind-altering substances in accordance with company policy

    - Minimum six months of substance abuse, peer support, mental health, recovery-based, or other related work or volunteer experience

    - Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

    - Active CPR

    - High School Diploma or GED

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary

    Begins at $17.00/hour or $18.00/hour for overnight.
